Airtel’s New Prepaid Plans from Rs 5, Rs 8 - How to Get.

Airtel has always been at the forefront of the mobile revolution in India and is known for its array of special offers and exclusive deals. In order to respond to the growing competition, Airtel has also revamped its data offerings and is currently offering new recharge packs for its prepaid customers which range from Rs 5 to Rs 399. As a matter of fact, the Rs. 5 data plan comes just a few days after the company introduced the Rs 8 plan for its prepaid customers. Moreover, some of these prepaid recharge also offer data & voice calls as well. Let’s take a look at each of the Airtel prepaid recharge plans and see what it has to offer. Also remember, you can make use of a 10 per cent cashback if you pay through the Airtel Payments Bank account.


 Let’s start off with the most expensive plan, the Rs. 399 plan which is being offered to select prepaid customers only. This plan offers unlimited local, STD calls on Airtel along with free-roaming, outgoing calls as well. Further, you can even avail 28 GB data (capped at 1 GB data per day) at 4G speeds while carrying a validity of 84 days. This applies for 4G SIM users only and you might need to check with the customer care before recharging to determine whether the plan is available on your number or not.

Under the Rs. 349 plan, you can avail unlimited local and STD calls along with 28 GB of 4G data (capped at 1 GB data per day) and is valid for a period of 28 days. There’s also the Rs. 295 plan where you can make unlimited local and STD calls for a period of 84 days. 

The Rs. 199 plan allows you to make unlimited local mobile calls along with 1GB 2G/3G/4G data for a period of 28 days. Then there’s the Rs. 149 plan which offers unlimited local or STD, Airtel to Airtel calls plus 2GB of 4G data with a validity period of 28 days. The Rs. 90 recharge plan offers Rs 88 talk time and unlimited validity while the Rs. 60 plan offers a similar deal with Rs. 58 talk time along with unlimited validity. However, there is no data allowance with these plans.

The lower priced deals start from Rs. 40 which offers Rs. 35 talk time with unlimited validity.  There’s also a Rs 15 plan where you can make local calls at 10 paise per minute while being valid for a period of 27 days along with the Rs 8 plan where you can make local as well as STD mobile calls at just Rs 30 paise per minute with a validity period of 54 days. The cheapest of these deals is the Rs. 5 plan which enables users to avail 4 GB of 3G/4G data, valid for a period of seven days. However, this offer is valid for one-time use only and only after a 4G SIM upgrade. This basically means that after the validity period is over, users will not be able to recharge with the same plan for the second time while the leftover data will not be carried forward either.

How to get the Plans

One thing which must be noted is – an airtel customer will see packs and offers based on their prepaid numbers. All the applicable easy recharge for national and international roaming, along with combo offers can be seen when a prepaid number is keyed in at https://www.airtel.in/prepaid-recharge. Further, you could also SMS the following codes, MRP LOCAL, MRP STD, MRP ISD, to find out more about the related packs available. Customers interested in any of the above 4G plans are advised to check the availability of offers through MyAirtel app or by visiting nearest Airtel service center or by contacting the customer care before activating any of the above plans. Customers can even upgrade their 2G/3G Sim to the latest 4G Sim by visiting the nearest Airtel service center.
